Coin Show - Monthly Notes for December 2020

The first show of the new 2021 year will be Sunday, January 10th, unless we are forced to close by state, county, local, hotel or COVID-19 officials.

The show will be in the recently renovated Joe Mack Wilson ballroom. It's a lighter, brighter space and looks very nice.

Of course, as always, the bourse will be filled with dealers and their showcases of coins, currency, bullion, exonumia, scripophily, semi-precious stones, jewelry and other intriguing items.

All visitors to the show are welcome whether buying, selling, trading or just looking at the many different items. Also, people can bring items to have the dealers provide free verbal appraisals.

IMPORTANT:  Masks WILL BE REQUIRED to enter the show due to the continued concern about the virus situation.

Visit the next Greater Atlanta Coin Show on Sunday, January 10, 2021 in the Joe Mack Wilson ballroom to buy, sell, trade or just browse among the many items on display.
People enjoyed visiting the December 2020 Greater Atlanta Coin Show, the last one of the year, in the three rooms downstairs since the ballroom renovations were not complete.

The dealers filled the three rooms with their many displays of coins, currency, bullion and other collectibles.

As always, we certainly appreciate our visitors, our dealers, our security and the hotel's staff for providing a fun and interesting place to spend a few hours.

Thank you one and all for making the December 2020 Coin Show a success.
Granted we live in the south, but still, the weather outside was not a typical December day. Instead, we enjoyed temperatures in the 60s on a mostly sunny day after the early morning overcast skies burned away.

The show did welcome a lot of people to the split bourse, but due to the continued COVID-19 concern, the show did not see as much traffic as seen in our December events of previous years.

Each year, the December show offers opportunities to find that special gift for a collector or a bullion investor.
It also provides many options to add to your own treasure chest, whether you are a collector or just someone who wants to own a few tangible assets.

Normally, long before the end of the year show, we have flyers available for the next year's monthly shows.

Unfortunately, we have been unable to finalize those dates with the hotel yet. They have a skeleton staff, and the scheduling efforts are taking more time.

We hope to have those dates soon and will add them to our Show Dates page on the web site, will list the next show on the recorded message (770-772-4359) and will send the information in our monthly Coins and Coin Show News email.

Due to being busy with the bourse, dealers and guests, we do not have any "seen at the show" collectible images.

However, we did take a few hotel scenes in the Joe Mack Wilson ballroom.

On Saturday evening before the show, the ballroom still had equipment and supplies for the people working in the space.
However, the renovation crews worked on Sunday during the show. By Sunday evening, the room looked markedly different, though still not quite ready for events. What a difference their efforts made in less than 24 hours.
In summary, we hope you and yours had a safe, healthy and enjoyable holiday season.

Our wish for all of you, your family and your friends a healthy and prosperous new year in 2021.
