Coins - 2002 Mint Set -
larger images
The 2002 mint set included two informational inserts about the uncirculated coins and two re-order cards
for ordering more 2002 mint sets. One of each insert was placed in the separate envelope for each mint.
The front of both inserts in the 2002 mint set reflected a simple design of red on white for
Denver and blue on white for Philadelphia. Each front contained a background image of the iconic eagle with arrows
in one set of talons and an olive branch in the other.
The insert for Philadelphia demonstrates the design with its blue border, blue printing and blue
iconic eagle. The Denver insert is similar except it is red in color.
Inside each 2002 insert, the US Mint discussed the ten coins from that particular mint
location.
Both inserts, one for Philadelphia and one for Denver, included the same information except for
references to Philadelphia or Denver.
For simplicity, only the Philadelphia insert is included.
The bottom section inside the insert identifies the specifications for the five new state quarter uncirculated
coins including their designs, artists, metal composition, weight and size. The quarters included Tennessee,
Ohio, Louisiana, Indiana and Mississippi.
The back of the folded insert shows the coin specifications for the cent, nickel, dime, half dollar and
dollar uncirculated coins.
For the 2002 mint set, the US Mint included two re-order cards - a blue-printed card in the
Philadelphia envelope and a red-printed card with the Denver uncirculated coins.
On the opposite side of the card, the US Mint suggested additional uncirculated coin sets as gifts for family
and friends with their instructions for placing the order.
