Coins - Coin and Currency
Sets
Not every year, but on occasion, the US Mint packages one of their commemorative coins with currency, real or
replica, in coin and currency sets. These sets also include a booklet of information generally describing some
historical significance of the coins or their subject matter. Sometimes, the sets also include other coins and
stamps along with the commemorative coin and the currency.
With most of these sets, the US Mint titled them "Coinage and Currency" sets. Today, however, most people
shorten the name to "coin and currency" sets.
The sets have some consistent attributes, but their packaging and contents make each set uniquely colorful and
beautiful.
In year order, the coin and currency sets included:
Note: The Thomas Jefferson commemorative dollar shows a date of 1993; however the Thomas Jefferson Coin and
Currency set was issued in 1994.
The coins in the Coin and Currency sets are uncirculated rather than proof. The coins' mintages are included in
the total uncirculated mintages and not separately for the coin and currency sets.

These prices fluctuate with the supply and demand on the market, and to a certain extent, the increase and
decrease of silver prices. In other words, any posted market values are only true for a short amount of time.
Current values for the historical US Mint Coin and Currency Sets could be higher or lower.
