Coins - American Legacy
Collection Proof Coins Sets
The US Mint offered beautifully packaged proof coins sets in 2005 through 2008 under their trademarked
name, American Legacy Collection.
The Proof Coins Sets included proof versions of the commemorative and circulating coinage provided by the US
Mint in each of those years.
The American Legacy Collection Proof Coins Sets were packaged in deluxe boxes that beautifully
stored and displayed the coins behind clear protective lenses. In addition, each package was designed in black and
silver and highlighted an American iconic symbol on the cover.
2005 - Lady Liberty in her flowing
robes holds the torch of freedom high in her right hand and the tablet of American
Independence in her left
2006 - The US Capitol building graces the
front cover showing the easily recognizable cast iron dome with the Statue of Freedom on
top
2007 - This set's front cover shows the
White House from the viewpoint below the steps of the front portico looking up to the flag waving
on high
2008 - The 2008 set's front
design includes a large portion of a flag flowing in the breeze in silver on a black
background
The US Mint's maximum population was 50,000 sets for each year of the American Legacy Collection Proof
Coins Sets. But, as these sets re-enter the market, some coin dealers break the sets and sell the various
coins separately. This makes the actual populations of the American Legacy Collection Proof Coins
Sets difficult to determine.

In early second quarter 2013, the American Legacy Collection Proof Coins Sets were valued at the following
purchase prices. (Remember, if you want to sell your sets, the number would be less than the market price.)
Of course, these values for the American Legacy Collection Proof Coins Sets fluctuate with the supply and demand
in the coin market and with the metals market due to the silver content in the commemorative dollars.
