Coins - 1994 Prestige Set
Certificate of Authenticity and Coin Specifications
In 1994, the US Mint returned to large paper with a tri-fold format. They printed the Certificate of
Authenticity for the 1994 Prestige Set on an off-white paper flecked with silver using black ink for the
contents and silver ink for the decorative border.
The paper is slightly smaller than a legal page of 8 1/2 by 14 inches. Information is printed on both sides
with the paper tri-folded prior to addition to the Prestige Set package.
The front of the folded certificate shows the World Cup USA logo in black print (scroll down for close-up).
Across the middle the typeface says, "WORLD CUP USA 1994 COMMEMORATIVE COINS." Next, "Certificate of Authenticity"
is printed with "1994 PRESTIGE SET" finishing the front.
Note the World Cup USA logo with its soccer ball in motion after a solid kick in front of stripes
symbolizing the US flag.
On the back, the Mint's seal is printed above "Department of the Treasury United States Mint," all in
black ink.
Inside the first fold of the tri-folded certificate, the Mint highlights the artists for the World Cup
USA commemorative coins. Even though the Prestige Set does not contain a gold coin, they include
information about the artist for the Five Dollar Gold commemorative coin.
The certificate states:
