Coins - 1992 Mint Set -
larger images
The US Mint included their history in the 1992 mint set insert to help collectors of the uncirculated
coins remember and celebrate the 200 years of coin production. They noted the early mints, the mints no longer
operating, and today's mint locations.
The front of the pale tan insert included obverse images of each of the coins and the two mint tokens
included in the 1992 mint set.
At the top of the inside of the insert, the time span, 1792-1992, recognizes the 200 years of coin operation by
the US Mint. At the top left, a picture of the early Philadelphia mint is shown above an image of the Philadelphia
coins in the 1992 mint set.
The historical commentary continues to the bottom of the insert and shows a picture of the original Denver
location with an image of its 1992 uncirculated coins just above it. Along the right margin, images of the five
uncirculated coins with their identification are shown.
On the back of the insert in the 1992 mint set, a white lined rectangle inside a pale tan border provides
the coin specifications for each of the five uncirculated coins in the mint set. The coin
specifications include the metal composition, the weight and the size in addition to the artists for both the
obverse and reverse designs.
