Coins - 1991 Mint Set -
larger images
The insert in the 1991 mint set included less details than in recent earlier years, but the simple and colorful
design made a pleasing addition to the uncirculated coins in the annual mint set.
The front of the insert simply showed a right hand with the thumb and forefinger holding a single 1991
Philadelphia minted nickel coin by its edge.
Inside the folded insert, the US Mint's message reminded collectors that the coins were provided
by the "Nation's official Mint." Just below, the mint tokens and coins march across the page two-by-two
organized with the coins organized by size.
At the bottom of the insert, the message introduced the uncirculated coins in the set with a brief comment about
their "freshly minted condition."
The coin specifications were included on the back of the folded insert and provided the details about
each of the five uncirculated coins including the metal composition, the weight and the size in addition to the
artists for both the obverse and reverse designs.
