Certificate of Authenticity and Coin Specifications
The Certificate of Authenticity for the 1990 Prestige Set includes information from the US Mint printed on a
pale green parchment-like paper using green ink.
The paper is slightly smaller than a regular page of 8 1/2 by 11 inches. Information is printed on both sides
with the paper folded in half before being added to the Prestige Set package.
The front of the folded certificate shows the heraldic eagle emblem printed above "UNITED STATES EISENHOWER
CENTENNIAL COIN." In large, green letters, "Certificate of Authenticity" flows across the front just above "1990
PRESTIGE SET."
The reverse of the folded certificate includes the Mint's recognition of the artists who designed the obverse
and reverse of the 1990 commemorative silver dollar honoring Eisenhower.
In green print, the information says:

Obverse: John Mercanti
John Mercanti attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Philadelphia College of Art, and Fleisher Art
Memorial School. He became a sculptor/engraver for the United States Mint in 1974.
Among his noteworthy achievements are designs for the 1989 Congressional Gold Five Dollar Coin, the 1986 Statue
of Liberty Silver Dollar Coin, the reverse of the 1984 Olympic Gold Ten Dollar Coin and the reverse of the 1983
Olympic Silver Dollar Coin.
Mercanti is a member of the American Medallic Sculpture Association and has designed many United States Mint
medals and medallions including the Louis Armstrong Medal and the obverse of the United States/Netherlands Treaty
Medal.
Reverse: Marcel Jovine
Marcel Jovine was born in Naples, Italy and attended the University of Naples and the Royal Academy of
Turin.
Among his noteworthy achievements are designs for the 1987 United States Constitution Gold Five Dollar Coin, and
the reverse of the 1988 Olympic Gold Five Dollar Coin.
Jovine is president and a fellow of the National Sculpture Society and a member of the American Medallic
Sculpture Association, the Federation Internationale de la Medaille, and the American Numismatic Society, which
awarded him the prestigious J. Sanford Saltus Award for life achievement in medallic art. He also received the Art
Award for Artistic Achievement from the American Numismatic Association. He designed the Constitution, Congress and
Supreme Court Bicentennial medals for the United States Historical Society, and commemorative medals for the 1980
Winter Olympics, 100th Anniversary of the Kentucky Derby, NASA's Viking I and II missions, and for
the Soyuz-Apollo Linkup.

specifications - the commemorative silver dollar, the clad half dollar and the standard proof coins.
