Coins - 1987 Proof Set
Certificate with Coin Specifications
Begun the previous year and continued in the 1987 proof set, the US Mint enclosed a pale purple card with
details about the coin specifications for each of the five proof coins in the set.
On one side of the card, the Treasury Department's seal for
the United States Mint is printed in purple ink. Within the seal's inner circle, a shield contains a set of
scales and a key separated by a chevron with thirteen stars. Around the inner circle are the words "Treasury"
at the top and "United States Mint" at the bottom.
The informational side of the card is titled "Proof Coin Set Specifications." Scroll down to view a table of the
details for each coin.
