Coins - 1986 Proof Set
Certificate with Coin Specifications
In the 1986 proof set, the US Mint enclosed a certificate with the coin specifications for the first time. In
addition to the proof set box and proof coins lens, a heavy pale purple card stock paper detailed the coins
included in the proof set.
The US Mint's treasury seal is centered on one side of the card. The seal contains a shield with a set of scales
and a key separated by a chevron with thirteen stars. Around the shield are the words: "Treasury" at the top and
"United States Mint" at the bottom.
The primary side of the card is titled "1986 Proof Coin Set" with a subtitle of "Specifications."
