Web site updates – Post-December Show and new 2012 Information

Once again, the December Sunday’s coin show saw a lot of people, elbow-to-elbow by mid-morning. We had our regular and semi-regular visitors, but we saw a lot of new faces, too.  All were welcome and we appreciate you coming to the coin show!

As we do after every monthly coin show, we’ve updated the Greater Atlanta Coin Show’s main web site for post-show information. This time, though, we’ve also updated the web site with the new 2012 dates.

On the coin show’s main page we’ve added the date for the next coin show, the first for 2012 on January 15. We’ve also included other pertinent details for the next show. In addition, the Show Dates page now also highlights the next show in addition to all of the new dates for 2012.

For fun and education, we’ve continued our review and charting of the gold and silver markets just prior to each coin show. Our gold charts and silver charts show the ups and downs of the metal markets from the start of the Greater Atlanta Coin Show in 1988 to now. The updated charts reflect the recent market changes prior to the December coin show. After the end of the year, a few days yet, we’ll update the highs-and-lows chart for the coin show years to include the 2011 highs and lows.

We also posted the Coin Challenge – Compass on the main site. The link to the answer can be found below the hints.   Did you recognize and know which coin included the image of the compass?  (Another couple of hints before you click on the link, the compass is related to surveying and the coin commemorated a centennial.)

Sunday’s show was busy with coins, bullion and other collectibles. You’ll find the Sunday coin show highlights on the 2011 Notes page.

We also made edits to a few other pages as well. Head on over to the main coin show page to check out the changes and browse the rest of the information as well.
